Wilkes Co., NC Will Book #2 Page 280 Benjamin Martins Will In the Name of God Amen. This twenty fourth d[ay of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand, eight Hundred & Seven. I Benjamin Martin [of Wilkes County & State of North Carolina being well [in health & of Sound & perfect memory & calling to mind the Uncertainty of life & that all flesh must Yield to Death when it shall please God to call them; I do th[ere- fore make & declare this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following , first I give my soul to G[od who gave it me & my Body to the Earth to be Decently Buried, And for the Setting of my temporal Es[tate & such goods & Chattels debts Etc as it hath pleas[ed God to bestow upon me I do Order, give & dispose [of the same in manner & form following, first I Ord[er that all my lawfull debts be paid. Next I give a[nd Bequeath to my Grandson Enos Anderson Son of my Daughter Charlotte the Land on which I now live [be- ing Fifty Acres; Next I give & Bequeath to my Son James five Shillings & for the Remainder of my goods & Chattels, Money & Property of every kind [that I may possess I give and Bequeath to my Wif[e page 2 Elisabeth for her use or Maintainance dur- i]ng her life or Widowhood her lawfull part of the be]fore mentioned Land also during her life & at the end of her Natural life the land before Mentioned to] be given to the said Enos Anderson and all the o]ther goods, Moneys, Property of every kind to be equally Divided between my Daughter Anna & my Daughter Charlotte & their Heirs, & I hereby appoint my friend Thomas Cook & my friend William Ellis Executors of this my last Will & Testament & hereby Revoking, Disannulling & making void all former Wills & Bequests by me made & Declaring this only to be my last Will & Testament.
