Wilkes Co., NC Will Book #2 Page 328 Will of Thomas Benge Dec'd State of North Carolina, Wilkes County In the Name of God Amen I [Tho mas Benge of the County & State aforesaid [being of sound & Perfect Memory blessed be God , do [this Twenty-first day of January in the Year of [our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred & Eleven [?? Publish & declare this to be my last Will & Test [a ment in the manner following. First I give & bequeath unto my Wife [Su sannah Benge One Negroe Woman named [Cloe during her life & after her Death I give said N[egroe Cloe unto my Son James Benge: I also leave [unto my Wife Susannah Benge the Household furn[niture and as much stock as would be judged Suffi[cient for her Support until her death. I also give unto my Grand Son Micajah [M. Benge Son of William Benge the tract of lan[d where I now live Containing Two Hundred Ac[res I also give to my Wife Susannah Ben[ge One Negroe Woman named Fany & one Ne[groe Man named Jack during her life, & after [my Wifes death I give my Negroe Woman Fany [to my Son Richard Benge & after my Wifes [death I give my Negroe Man Jack to my Grand S[on Micajah M. Benge Son of William Benge & S[??? William Benge on Micajah M. Benges Richar[d Negore Jack must pay to Richard Benge in [two Years after my Wifes dec'd One Hundred Dol[lars to be paid Fifty Dollars in each Year. Item. I give to my Sons Micajah Benge, S[??? Benge, & Thomas Benge five Shillings each page 2 Item. I give to my Daughters Elizabeth Sparks, Ann Samuel, Salley Gray & Susannah Martin five Shillings each. Item. I give the tract of Land lying on the little Elkin Creek Containing two Hundred Acres unto my Son Richard Benge. Item. I leave all the balance of my land with my Household furniture & Stock after my Wife Susannah Benges dec'd to be Sold & the money arising therefrom (on twelves Months Credit to be equally divided between my two Daughters Nancy Bryan & Molly Ray. And I hereby make & Ordain my Worthy friends John Martin Senr James Gray Junr & Meridith Thurmond my Executors to this my last Will & Testament.
