Wilkes Co., NC Will Book #4 Page 264 John Kindall's Will In the name of God amen. I John Kindall of the State of North Carolina Wilkes County being weak in body but sound in mind and memory blessed be allmighty God, Knowing That man is mortal, and I do make and publish this my last Will and Testament That is to say first of all I com- mend my soul to God and my nody decently buried and funeral expenses paid and all my just debts paid. Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Kindall five hundred and twenty Dollars in money which Sum I now hold on Notes for her use and benefit after my death, The above named sum of five hundred and twenty Dollars is to be paid her without interest the same being now in the hands of friends and if any failure take place in collecting the principal for her then my wife Elizabeth Kindall is to lose it and further I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Kindall one feather bed and furniture, one Cow one Chest one ??????? Skillet one set Cups & Saucers 1/2 dozen Delph Plates 1/2 dozen Bowles and 1 stand of White Curtains. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my beloved son William Kindall (Alias Wm Robbins) who has been always a good and dutyful son to me all my lands where I now live together with all and singularly my persihable Goods and Chattels, Stocks of every kind and in case he dies without issue then my will and desire is that my beloved brother Thomas Kindall and my dear sister Sally Shearer have one hundred dollars each the balance of my estate to be equally divided between my brother Thomas Kindall William Kindall James Kindall and my sister Sally Shearer and further in order to carry this my last will and testament in effect do appoint my worthy friends John B Ferguson and Smith Ferguson Executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others by me made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Thirty nine. Signed Sealed published and declared John Kindall [seal] in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names William Brookshire Thomas Carlton William Brown I John Kindall of the state of North Carolina and Wilkes County make and publish this Codicill to my last will and testament in page 2 manner following That is to say I give to Brown Creek Church Thirteen Dollars that is now in the hands of Wm Brown to be disposed of in the following manner. Two dollars to the pastor of the church and twenty-five cents to the association to be paid anually until consumed and lastly it is my desire that htis my present Codicil be annexed to and made part of my last will and testament to all extents and pur- poses in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of July 1841.
