Wilkes Co., NC Will Book #5 Page 14 No 3 Bluford McGee's Will State of North Carolina | Wilkes County | In the name of God Amen. I Bluford McGee of the County & State aforesaid being afflicted in body but sound in mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do make publish and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit I give my body to my Executors to be buried in a decent manner and my Soul to God that gave it, and as for the Goods, Lands, Chattels & testaments that I am blessed with I bestow them in the following manner, to wit first I will that all my justdebts be paid, 2nd I will that my beloved wife Lucy McGee have peaseable possession of all the land where I now live during her natural life also all the household & kitchen furniture also all the farming utensils 3rd I will that after the decease of my wife Lucy McGee that the land wherein I now live be sold at a credit of 12 Month and the proceeds thereof to be equally divided between eifht of my children that is to say Holland McGee, Burton Mcgee, Wm Soloman McGee, Bluford Bartlet McGee, Polly Louisa McGee (now Polly Ferguson), Cynthia Caroline McGee (now Caroline Walker), Elizabeth Dorcas McGee and Lucy Matilda McGee. 4th I will that my two daughters above named Elizabeth Dorcas & Lucy Matilda McGee have each a bed and furniture to the value of thirty Dollars each; also a Cow and Calf to the value of Ten Dollars each. 5th I will that my beloved wife Lucy McGee have all my beestands and my two Sons Sm S. McGee and Bluford B. McGee have my still and all the utensils be- longing thereto. 6th I will that my two Sons above named Wm S. and Bluford Bartlet have my Rifle gun. 7th I will that the tract of land where Holland McGee now lives be sold as soon as practable after my decease at a Credit of twelve Month and twenty dollars of the proceeds thereof to be equally divided between the lawful heirs of Alley Dula wife of Jefferson Dula as they the said heirs become of age and the Balance if any to be equally divided between my eight children first named in this my last will and testament. 8th I will that my Wife Luch McGee have my Cart and Steers for the use of the farm. 9th I will that my son Bluford Bartlet have thirty Dollars extra if he fails in raising him a horse worth that much. 10th I will that my beloved Wife Lucy have a sufficiency of my Stock of Cattle, Sheep & hogs for a plentiful Support of one year from my decease and the balance to be sold at twelve Month Credit and divided as above directed In Test- page 2 mony whereof I hereunto set my hand and Seal this 14th day of Oct in the year of our Lord 1848 ?? given in presence of us his John Carlton | Bluford x McGee Thomas Carlton | mark Jesse F.
