Children of J
ESSE MARTIN and MARY are:
  i.   CYRENE6 MARTIN, b. Abt. 1796, ME; d. February 05, 1873, Bangor, Penob. Co., ME; m. ASA F. CROWELL, October 15, 1812, Vassalboro, Kenn., ME.
  Notes for CYRENE MARTIN:
No town birth record has been found on any of Rev. Jesse and Mary Martin's children except that entered by Alven C. Martin in Amherst, when he was Town Clerk, and in the Bible record of Jesse Martin, Jr., in Dexter, Maine Town Records. All other evidence so far has come from census records and the death certificate of the only one born in Maine, Alven. It is more likely she was born in N.H. , but the 1850 Bangor census script is almost illegible.

  Notes for ASA F. CROWELL:
The 1850 Census states his occupation as farmer. At that time they were living in Bangor with 3 children: Alonzo, b. 1832, was a clerk; Florilla, b. 1834; and Lewis, b. 1837. Their real estate was valued at $600. Cyrene's (also spelled Syrene) birthplace was given as Maine, so Rev. Jesse Martin must have left N.H. about 1796, when he would have been only 22, and his wife Mary (surname unknown, unless it is Cushing), age 19.

Marriage Notes for CYRENE MARTIN and ASA CROWELL:
The marriage was performed by James Brackett, Esq.

25. PHEBE5 MARTIN (EBENEZER4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, GEORGE1) was born Abt. 1759 in NH, and died Aft. 1804. She married ROBERT STINSON Abt. 1777 in Newbury, VT.

Notes for P
HEBE MARTIN:
See sources for Lydia Martin, dau. of Ebenezer and Phebe. By 1820 their (probable) son Andrew is living with 2 females over 45, which makes one wonder if Phebe is living with them there.

Notes for R
OBERT STINSON:
The parents of Robert Stinson are as yet unknown, though it is possible if not probable that his father was David Stinson, killed by Indians while on a hunting trip with John Stark and others in Rumney, N.H. in 1752.
He probably came to Bradford from Dunbarton, N.H., where the Stinson families were interrelated to the Starks.
Robert and Phebe left Bradford about 1784 and moved northwest to Bolton, Vt., where they were among the very first families. Robert was Tax-collector, and held other responsible jobs in the town. They left Bolton by 1807 and removed to Franklin Co., N.Y. The 1810 Census of Franklin Co. is the last time either Robert or Phebe is heard of, and no death, burial or probate records have been found.
The order of the children's births, or their exact names is unknown, except for those found on the census records. Bolton, Vt. seems to have lost their early records before 1860. It is only by family memory, proximity in later censuses and by reuse of first names that links have been made.

ii.   ANDREW STINSON, b. Abt. 1780.

iv.   EUNICE STINSON, b. Abt. 1784.
  v.   ALLAN STINSON, b. Abt. 1787.

26. SAMUEL5 MARTIN (EBENEZER4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, GEORGE1) was born November 23, 1769 in Bradford, Orange, VT, and died May 27, 1845 in Munro, WI. He married LOVINA PALMER February 28, 1802.
