Notes for T
HOMAS FOWLER:
Thomas Fowler's son, Thomas Fowler, Jr. is the guide who led Henry David Thoreau into the Penobscot area. In Thoreau's account THE MAINE WOODS he describes the huge, round chair-table in the Betsy Martin-Thomas Fowler cabin, which could be closed up and pushed against the wall. The table is still in beautiful condition. We can tell by the birthdates and birthplaces of their daughters Elizabeth and Rachel the approximate date when the family moved up to Grand Falls: between 1827 and 1829. They were there by the Census of 1830.

Children of B
