The 1807 tax list for Wheatfield Twp, Indiana Co, lists Joh n, George and Henry Bowers, all farmers. Only John and Geor ge are foudn in the 1810 census, both over age 45 (before 1 765). The 1810 census shows George with a boy and 3 girls 1 794-1800, and 3 boys and a girl 1800-1810. In the 1830 cens us, he still has 2 boys 1800-1810 and a girl 1810-1820 (no t found yet in 1820) This assignment of children is not absolutely proved 1. In his 1847 will, is of Green Twp, Indiana Co, Pa, menti ons sons John and Henry - in the 1840 census, John and Henr y are on adjacent lines in Green Twp, George is on the enx t page. 2. William Bowers' Civil War pension application, per Barba ra Yurkshat, states his father as George b abt 1804, son o f George. 3. 1851 administration of the estate of Henry Wike (md Nanc y Bowers), lists John Coy (md Sarah Bowers) and Peter Bower s.
