The 1807 tax list for Wheatfield Twp, Indiana Co, lists Joh n, George and Henry Bowers, all farmers. Only John and Geor ge are foudn in the 1810 census, both over age 45 (before 1 765). The 1810 census shows George with a boy and 3 girls 1 794-1800, and 3 boys and a girl 1800-1810. In the 1830 cens us, he still has 2 boys 1800-1810 and a girl 1810-1820 (no t found yet in 1820)
This assignment of children is not absolutely proved
1. In his 1847 will, is of Green Twp, Indiana Co, Pa, menti ons sons John and Henry - in the 1840 census, John and Henr y are on adjacent lines in Green Twp, George is on the enx t page.
2. William Bowers' Civil War pension application, per Barba ra Yurkshat, states his father as George b abt 1804, son o f George.
3. 1851 administration of the estate of Henry Wike (md Nanc y Bowers), lists John Coy (md Sarah Bowers) and Peter Bower s. Also present were John Bowers of George and Henry Bower s of George. These can be assumed to be brothers-in-law. (f rom Kathleen Wolfe)
4. Catherine is born in 1804 - John's 1810 census shows n o children after 1800, and she is not included in the lis t of baptisms of Henry's children

In the name of God, I George Bowers considering the uncerta inty of this mortail life and of sound mind and memory bles sed be Almity God for the same do make and publish this m y last will and testament in manner and from following tha t is to say first, after my debts is paid together with m y funeral expense out of my personable property First I giv e and bequeath unto my two grandsons, that is to say, son H enry and son Johns sons. The Land I now hold by improvement . To be equally divided between them, that is to son Henry' s son George and son Johns son George their heirs and assig ns all that messiage or tenement situate living and being i n Green Township and County aforesaid. Together will all m y other Freehold Estate whatsoever to hold to them the sai d George and George Bowers their heirs and assigns foreve r and lastly as to all the rest residue and remainder of m y personal estate goods and cattle of what kind and natur e whatso ever is to be sold at publick vendue and the mone y that arises from the sale is to be divided equally shar e and share alike except my son Joseph, his is only to hav e one dollar that is to be his share, all the rest of my ch ildren is to get eaquel shears. I hearby appoint Peter Long enaker my Executor of this my last will and testament hearb y revoking all former wills by me made, in witness whearof f I have hearunto set my hand seal this fourteenth day of D ecember in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundre d and forty six.
