source says family originated in Oxfordshire, soon after Norman conquest. Says
Francis, wife, and son Joseph came to Lancaster Co. Pa. 1660's. Place of death
from David Stielow 8/94. Descendancy chart LDS Ancestral File concurs. Year of
birth in qquestion - Brian says 1630, David Stielow doesn't list a year, LDS
descendancy chart & Moniteau Co. Missouri history have 1644 - all have him
married to Elizabeth Chamberlain. Son Joseph born 1670, either date possible
in theory given abscence - so far - of b-date of father.
