John Jarvis (son of Daniel Jarvis and Unknown Jarvis Wife)^{6448, 6449, 6450, 6451} was born Abt. 1720 in England^{6452, 6453, 6454}, and died Abt. 1795 in Baltimore Co, Maryland^{6455, 6456, 6457}. He married Hanna Hill on Abt. 1740 in Hillshire, England⁶⁴⁵⁷, daughter of Hill and Unknown Hill Wife.

John and Hannah (Hill) Jarvis are the first known of the Jarvisline that are prominent in the history of Calhoun and Roane Countiesin WV. John Jarvis of Clarksburg, WV quotes Audrey Jarvis Hinkle assaying, "The first Jarvis of whom I have any information is JohnJarvis, who was born in England in 1720. He married Hannah Hill ofHillshire, England and emigrated to America, arriving in Baltimore,Maryland about 1750. He had two sons, one of them being called Solomon. Legend has it that Solomon and his brother both fought inthe Revolutionary War..." The Compendium of American Genealogy lists "John Jarvis1720-1795" and "Hannah Hill 1725-1800" and states that John fought inthe Revolution.
