Solomonmoved to Kentucky before 1820. John was married twice. J.D. Warfield's "Founders of Ann ArundelCo. Maryland", speaks of Sarah (Hood) Jarvis and states, "There is noaccounting for what happened between Sarah and John Jarvis. It wouldseem that she chose to remain in Maryland at the estate property ofher ancestors, while he chose to go west." John was listed in the 1783 Harforde County census as a head of a household of six white souls and one slave. John and Sarah (Hood)Jarvis apparently had at least four children before they went theirseparate ways.
