History indicates that James Madison Riggle and his wife, Lucy were living in Marlow, Oklahoma in 1905 when his son-in-law, Loddie Dixon and family moved to Oklahoma.James Madison and his son, Lee were employed by the Rock Island Railroad at that time.
It should be noted that Lucy and James Madison named their daughter, Minnie Ola after the town of Mineola, Texas.
Beulah Bolles, ( grand-daughter of James Madison Riggle) reported that Mary Lucy and James Madison's first child was a daughter named Mary Lucy.This child is not shown on the family page because it has not been validated.The story has been told that this daughter was dating a young man that Mary Lucy did not approve of.They returned her to the family home in Mineola, Wood County Texas to live with relatives.It is told that she fell in love with her first cousin who was named Benjamin Jones and married him.She is supposed to be buried near Mineola, Texas. Benjamin Jones was a nephew of Mary Lucy Jones Riggle.Records show that James Madison Riggle is buried in Elmore City, Oklahoma. James Madison's wife, Lucy is buried in a cemetery in Duncan, Oklahoma.
It has been reported by Beulah Bolles that the Riggle family originated in Pennsylvania.William Madison father of James Madisonwas born in Fredricks County Virginia in 1811.The 1840 Federal Census taken in Carroll County Mississippi shows William Madison living there with his wife and his family. Only the head of the household's name was given in that census. This family also appeared in the 1850 Federal Census taken in Carroll County Mississippi.However, the following names were provided in this census.
