George Wesley Hamilton

George Wesley Hamilton was born in 1863 to George Hamilton and Sarah Louisa Shelton Hamilton. (See Sarah Hamilton Redmon article for lineage). George Wesley Hamilton married Louisa Jane Massingale who was born in 1865 and the daughter of Robert "Bobby" Massingale and Armifilia "Millie" Wilson. George Wesley Hamilton died March 07, 1944 and is buried at Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, SC. Louisa Jane Massingale Hamilton died in Gastonia, NC and is buried at Oconee Memorial Gardens in Seneca, SC. George Wesley and Louisa Jane Massingale Hamilton had seven children; Mack Hamilton who married Lizzie Petty, Robert Hamilton, Amandy "Mandy" Hamilton who married Rev. Lawrence Crawford, Leevie Hamilton who married Jeff Medlin, Louis Hamilton who married Amy Mathis, Roberta Cressy Hamilton who married George Alvin "Noke" Rowland, and Lawrence Hamilton who married Nancy Lenora Crawford.

Mack Hamilton (son of George Wesley Hamilton and Louisa Jane Massingale) married Lizzy Petty who had daughters Margaret (who married Ed Mull) and Bernice.

Robert Hamilton (son of George Wesley Hamilton and Louisa Jane Massingale) married first Janie Chapman and had six children; Austin Hamilton (who married Etta Mae Barrett or Martin and had four children; Mildred Hamilton who married Buck McAlister, Janie Hamilton who married Capus Martin Jr., Billy Hamilton who married Ruth LeRoy, and Dwayne Hamilton), Ellie Mae Hamilton who married Gus Martin, Lona Hamilton who married George Phillips, Maryland Hamilton, Leo Hamilton, and Fred Hamilton. Robert Hamilton married second to May Kay.

Mandy Hamilton (daughter of George Wesley Hamilton and Louisa Jane Massingale) and Rev. Lawrence Crawford had no children. He was born January 22, 1888 and was the son of Rudison H. Crawford and Samantha Ensley Crawford. Both Rev. Lawrence Crawford and Mandy Hamilton Crawford are buried in Oakey Hill Cemetery in Jackson County, NC. (JUST A NOTE: Rev. Lawrence Crawford's brother, Rev. Henry Crawford who married Lena Massingale-the daughter of Bobby and Millie Wilson Massingale- adopted a daughter Bessie. Bessie's mother was Annie Mathis and her father was an Indian. Bessie married the second time to Spurgeon Massingale.)

Louis Hamilton (son of George Wesley Hamilton and Louisa Jane Massingale) and Amy Mathis had nine children; Blease Louis Hamilton (who was born December 09, 1915 and married Florine Mauldin), Esther Hamilton (who was born April 28, 1918 and married Clyde James), Gertrude Hamilton (who was born September 12, 1920 and married Rufus Owens), Merona Hamilton (who was born November 18, 1922 and married Leota Bryson), Earl Claude Hamilton (who was born August 25, 1925 and married Lucille Hunter), Calvin C. Hamilton (who was born September 5, 1927 and married Betty Hedden), Alvin D. Hamilton (who was born September 5, 1927 and married Eloise Bennett), Fleta Hamilton (who was born October 22, 1930 and married the first time to Junior Smith), and Cecil Hamilton (who was born February 21, 1934).

Roberta Hamilton and Noke Rowland had three children; Louella Rowland, Madgelene Rowland, and Alvin Rowland (who married Maybell Richardson and had children Roberta Rowland, Steve Rowland, Peggy Rowland, Richard Rowland and Dennis Rowland).

Lawrence Hamilton (son of George Wesley Hamilton and Louise Jane Massingale) was born in 1904 and died February 10, 1973 and is buried in Oconee Memorial Gardens in Seneca, SC. He married Nancy Lenora Crawford. She was born in 1911 and died October 10, 1998 and is buried in Oconee Memorial Gardens. Lawrence and Nancy Crawford Hamilton had nine children; Spergeon Talmadge Hamilton (who was born 1926 and married Bernice McClain and had children Sharon Hamilton and Paul Mack Hamilton), Lawrence Hamilton Jr (who was born 1928 and married Mamie Donald), Betty Louise Hamilton (who was born 1932 and died May 18, 1936 in Central, Pickens county SC), Rose Marie Hamilton (who was born April 23, 1934 and married James Roberts and had children Brenda Gail Roberts, Bonnie Sue Roberts, and Patty Roberts), Virgil Leverne Hamilton (who was born August 24, 1935 and married Josephine Groarke who was born March 28, 1937 in Kerry County Ireland and they had children Ann Marie Hamilton who married Rodney Hughes and James Virgil Hamilton who married Cecilia Cely), Ellen Verseille Hamilton (who was born in 1937 and married Charles Head, the son of Auther Head and Kansie Whitmire. See later paragraph), Lela Bell Elizabeth Hamilton (who was born in 1938 and married first Bill Cannon and had daughter Debbie Cannon and Lela Bell married second Ervin Turner), Frances Geraldine Hamilton (who was born 1940 and married K.C. Ken Mooney), and Dewey Preston Hamilton (who was born in 1942 and married Gennie Riggins and Claudine unknown).

Ellen Verseille Hamilton (1937) and Charles Head (1935) had four children; Larry Charles Head (who was born February 20, 1954 and married Myra Delia Burnett and had children Ashley Delia Head and Amber Christine Head), Audrey Ellen Head (who was born December 20, 1955 and married Randolph Carter Dawkins and had children Carrie Ellen Dawkins, Cheryl Ann Dawkins, and Amy Elizabeth Dawkins), Cheryl Ann Head (who was born May 1, 1959 and married Louis Randolph Smith and had children Jessica Audrey Smith, Suzanne Katie Smith, and Nicholas Charles Smith), and Gerald Alan Head (who was born March 7, 1961 and married Patricia Ann Younginer and had children Jennifer Ryan Head and Justin Gerald Head).
