He married (1) MARTHA ROSS GWINN Abt. 1898, daughter of JAMES GWINN and CORDELIA HICKS. He married (2) KATHLEEN GWINN Aft. 1920, daughter of LABEN GWINN and SUSIE WICKLINE.

* 1910 Census - West Virginia - Summers County - Green Sulphur District - Enumeration District No. 0132 - Family 0290 on Gwinn Road in Meadow Creek Precinct. The Census Date was May 14, 1910 and included the following information. R. Lee Martin was employed as a farmer and married to Martha R. Gwinn for the past 11 years. Martha had given birth to 6 children, but only 5 were living. Carl (11), Clarance (9), Ella (6), Hazel (3), and Roy (10 months). These ages were according to their last Birthday. R. Lee was 34 his last Birthday and Martha was 28 on her last Birthday.

* 1920 Census - West Virginia - Fayette County - Enumeration District No. 40 - Sheet No. 15 - Family No. in Order of Visitation is 251. The Census Date was January 22, 1920, and included the following information. R.L. Martin's occupation is as a carpenter. He is 44 and married to Martha who is 37. Seven children are listed - Carl (20), a carpenter - Clarance (19), a laborer at a lumber yard, Ella (15), Hazel (12), Roy (10), Stafford (8 years, 2 months), and Arnold (3 years and 10 months).

* According to the Census Reports, Robert's Mother and Father, and Martha's Mother and Father were all born in West Virginia

* Robert Lee Martin died in Marion County, Mannington District, on December 30, 1962. He was buried on January 1, 1963, at Wickline Cemetery in Meadow Bridge, Fayette Co., WV. His death is recorded in Marion County Deaths, Vol. 11, pg. 128. Undertaker was W.F. Jones. Dr. Robert R. Frye signed the death certificate. The death informant was Kathleen Martin. His parents are listed as Henry Clay Martin and Mary Foster.
