I am researching the MARTIN and AIKEN families of County Antrim, Ireland. Robert (1729-1811) and Rebeccah Martin emigrated to America with a group of Protestant Scotch- Irish immigrants - the others being the LAWS, and the MCCLINTOCKS. They settled in the Little River Section of then Fairfield District, South Carolina. Robert Martin was granted 450 acres in 1771 near Jackson Creek in Fairfield District. The AIKEN family was headed by James (1734-1798) and Elizabeth Reid Aiken. They also settled near the MARTINS at Jackson Creek.
