Looking for information on John Myles, born abt. 1801 in Ireland, he came to Canada with two brothers, (Patrict & unknown) as a stole-away on a ship from Ireland, date unknown. John married Margaret Quigley, b. abt. 1800, they lived in Miramichi Northumberland Co., NB, Canada for some time, as some of the their children were born there. Also looking for Margaret Quigley's family, parents, brothers, sister, etc.

Area's of interest in Ontario: Renfrew County, Ottawa Valley, Algona South, and North, Silver Lake, Eganville, Augsburg, US.

I found though my research there has been a difference in spellings of last names, such as in Buckwald, Buckwalt, Buckwaldt, Buchwald, Myles, Miles, Smith, Smyth. (Pioneers were also known to change there last names, Buckwald, changed to Buck.)

Carol McCuaig from Juniper Books in Renfrew, County, Ontario, helped me a long in my research with some good advice, "The early pioneers all spoke their own languages, not always known by the census takers. Also, many were illiterate and the names were written down as they sounded. It is quite common in this area for different branches of the same family to use different spellings nowadays."

Any Information would be appreciated on the above names, Please feel free to email me at: sweetpea_5999@hotmail.com, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

This Home page is dedicated to my parents, and siblings who have passed on into a better place, may our history always be there for the future generations.
