PA Guysborough Co., NS - DIECKHOFF/DEACOFF, STROPEL, FERGUSON, GRAHAM, MARSHALL, HURST, HURLEY, KEATING, FORKHILL York County, Ontario - non PA German - MILLS, MARSHALL, WINFIELD, GRAHAM, WILLCOCK, JOSE, LYONS (English Antrim County, Ireland - SHANNON, KELSO, COURTNEY, BARNETT, CRAIG, MAWHINNEY, GRAHAM, ADAMSON, FINLAY, SKELTON Frontenac County, Ontario - MONTGOMERY, TAYLOR, BULCH Brentford, Middlesex, England - PEACOCK, BUTLER, YOUNG, MARRINER Suffolk, England - MILLS, CHURCHYARD, HAMBLYN, FISH, MOATS Cornwall, England - WILLCOCK, JOSE, TOBY, CLINICK, HARRY, OLIVER, POLGASE, MURRISH, RUNDLE, HAWKE, KNIGHT, JOB, TRUSCOTT Yorkshire, England - STANLEY, JOHNSON, NEWMAN, BAILEY, GRIFFITHS, TOLSON, STANHOPE Borders, Scotland - ARMSTRONG, JARDINE, REID, LITTLE, THORBURN, PATIE, RICHARDSON, PATERSON, SCOTT Please review the reports at the bottom of this page which outline my "BRICK WALLS"! COOMBER/COMBER of Brentford, Middlesex and Wrotham, Kent, England My COOMBER ancestors originated in Wrotham Parish, Kent and I follow a family line that moved to Brentford, Middlesex and finally, Bristol, before leaving for Ontario, Canada in 1906. HORNER/HANAUER of Somerset Co., PA and Markham Twp., York Co. ON Daniel HORNER and his wife, Anna Maria KIMMEL, came to Ontario in 1805 with many other Pennsylvania German settlers from Somerset County. They raised their family at Headford in Markham Township, York Co., Ontario. LaROSE/LaRUSH of Montreal and Etobicoke Twp., York Co. ON Alexandre LaRose was a native of Montreal, Quebec who came to Ontario in 1812 while fighting with the Essex Militia. His wife, Susannah, was of Pennsylvania German ancestry, and after his early death, she married Pierre LaROCHE (Peter LaRUSH), also from Montreal. The LaRose and LaRush families settled in Etobicoke Township, York Co., Ontario. Go to the file "Susannah" below to see her descendants. LYONS/MAGUIRE of Strabane, Tyrone Co., Ireland and Georgina Twp., York Co., ON John LYONS commutted his pension from the Chelsea Hospital in London for passage to Canada in 1831. He settled in the Township of Georgina, York Co., Ontario. Some of his children remained in York County, others went to Alabama, Michigan and Kentucky. SIZE/SEITZ or VAN SIZE of Kingston, ON and Markham Twp., York Co. ON. John SIZE and wife, Elizabeth VAN DER HEYDEN came from Schenectady NY to Ontario in 1800. They were early settlers in Unionville, Markham Twp. Their descendants have moved all over Canada and the US. |
