Notes for Thomas Murray Sr.: Probate: MAY 1805 Washington County, Tennessee PROP: 30 DEC 1778 land grant - 300 acres in NC, in what becameWashington Co., TN Will: 5 SEP 1802 Washington County, Tennessee Military Service: 1774 Lord Dunmore's War, William Herbert'sCompany, Fincastle Co., VA ---------------------------------------------------Will of Thomas [Murray] Murrey------In the name of God AmenTo all persons whom it may concern GreetingsI Thomas Murry Senr of Washington County in the State ofTennessee being weak of body but of sound and discerning mindand memory and knowing the uncertainty of this life through theinfirmity of old age Do make and put in writing my last will &testament in manner and form following:First my will and desire that all my just debts be paid &funeral charges fully satisfied out of my estate.Secondly I give and bequeath to my grandson Thomas Murry son ofmy son Shaderack the plantation I now live on containing onehundred and forty five acres and the appurtenances theretobelonging at the time of my death.Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my grandson Jabez Murry son ofmy son Thomas one horse and my bridle and saddle I may diepossessed of.Fourth to my son Morgan Murry having heretofor given him what Iintend to be his wrights of my estate except that I now give andbequeath to him my best suit of clothes that I die possessed ofand no more.Fifth to my daughter Elizabeth Philips having heretofor givenher what I intend to be her wrights of my estate I herebybequeath and ratify unto her forever all that I have heretoforgiven her and no more.Sixth to my daughter Ureth King having heretofor given her whatI intended to be her wright of my estate I hereby bequeath andratify unto her forever all that I have heretofore given her andno more.Seventh to my daughter Ann Doty the wife of Joseph Doty havingdispleased me I give and bequeath her the amount of twenty centsin money out of my estate and no more.Eighth To my daughter Mary Barron wife of William Barron havingheretofor given her what I intended to be her wright of myestate I hereby bequeath and ratify unto her forever all that Ihave heretofor given her and no more except twenty cents inmoney to be paid to her of my estate.Ninth to my daughter Sarah Barron wife of Joseph Barron havingheretofor given her what I intended to be her wrights of myestate I hereby bequeath and ratify unto her for ever all that Ihave heretofor given her with the sum of twenty cents more inmoney to her paid out of my estate and no more.Tenth To my son Christopher Murry I having heretofor given himout of my estate what I intended to be his wright I now bequeathand ratify to him forever & no more.
