39. Tithe Applotment Book - Rasharkin (1834), [There is evidence from the Tithe Applotment of the Parish of Rasharkin and the Irish naming system that Richard Carey's father was called John CAREY. His mother was probably called Margaret (Peggy) . This is based on the fact that a John CAREY paid Tithes in 1843 on the same 16 acre farm in Glenbuck. Richard CAREY, had a first son who was called John and his first daughter was called Margaret (Peggy) (In the Irish naming system the first son was named after the father's father, and the second son after the mother's father; the first daughter was named after the father's mother and the second daughter after the mother's mother.)].
