Orange Nash was a slave who came to the U.S. via the Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia. He became free when slavery was abolished, and later lived in Attala County Mississippi. He served in the Confederate Army, probably as a cook, for his master. He received a pension from the Army for his services.I am seeking links to living descendants to Orange Nash. His name is also sometimes spelled Owens Nash. I am also seeking links to descendants of Richard & Mary Cross. They lived in rural Mississippi in a community outside of Kosciusko called Little Hill.Richard's mother was named Fannie. I also seek links to James Filmore Mason, born in Corbijn, KY.He raised a family in Milwaukee, WI, where he died in 1979.His former wife was my grandmother, Naomi Jackson (Mason), born in Indiana. She also lived in Milwaukee, where she died in 1975.Naomi's mother was named Eliza Jackson. |
