Notes for Thomas (by hypothesis) Melton:
Thomas Melton was found in Lincoln Co., TN in the early 1800's. In 1821 he moved with Anna, his wife and son, Thomas Allison Melton and another son whose name could have been William to the Clay community in Jefferson County, AL. They had other children, one was Cincinnatta, they joined the Cahaba Baptist church in Trussville, AL They removed their letters in 1838-39 and moved on to Texas. It is not clear if Thomas moved or not. Thomas Allison Melton remained in Alabama and raised a large family. He had married Frances Frazier daughter of Lewis Frazier and made his home in Jefferson Co.
