I am the son of Alvis Fred Mason of Macon County Missouri.My known Mason family history begins with Robert Mason of Stephney, London England who immigrated to America, served during the Revolution and finally settled in Knox County (now Bell) Kentucky.In the early 1850's, Robert's grandson William Mason migrated to northern Missouri later serving in the Civil War where he was blinded.William returned to Bell County Kentucky but his wife and children remained in Missouri.Extended familes associated with the Mason family that I research include: Baker, Phipps, Grishem, Evans.I also research Halley, Tuttle, Shoemaker, Roberts, Cooley, Vestal, and Goodin families that are descendents of my father. I am the son of Mary Mildred Turner originally of Knox County Missouri.My known Turner family begins with Charles Turner of Albemarle County Virginia. Charles'son George had migrated to what was to become Marion County Missouri by 1818.Charles' grandson Reverend Charles Leche Turner left a very large number of descendents.My mother is the ggrandaughter of Reverend Charles Turner through his son Dr Silas Turner.Dr Silas Turner was born in Marion County Missouri and moved shortly after the Civil war to Homer, Louisiana.Extended families associated with the Turner family that I research include:Lear, Maupin, Ballard, Fagan, Ross, and Martin. | Dale William Mason Family Home Page Updated March 1, 2004 |
