Probably died in Marengo co after 1840 and before 1850. Caleb probably moved to Ala about 1800, married there and raised a family, according to letter written by one of his grandsons, Stephen Etheredge written to his daughter, Ema C. Etheredge and Bible records. Dorothy Lee Etheredge Patrick of Baton Rouge, La at one time had the Bible in the late 70's. Stephen named the children of Caleb and Sarah as being 8 children, 5 boys, and 3 girls, named Louis, John, Aaron, Benjamin,Stephen, girls named, Ellen, Caroline, and Elizabeth. Benjamin was Stephen's father and he moved to La in 1844. He had been living in Nanafalia near the Tombigbee River in Marengo Co. Benjamin died Mar 8, 1847. Stephen was 3 years old when he died. Caroline & Elizabeth's families moved to La in 1852. Aaron moved to Union Co, Ark about 1840. In Oct 1863, Stephen, who was in Tenn Army near Chattanooga, Tn saw John, son of Louis Etheredge and Jack, son of John Etheredge. Stephen's other grandparents were Nancy and James Williams, his grandfather Caleb Etheredge and his maternal grandmother Nancy were brother and sister.
