Swortown, consisted of a grocery store, a post office, a grist mill, a backsmith shop, a saw mill and a distellery, located 2 1/2 miles from Buchanan, Henry Co. TN on Owens Hill was established shortly after the Civil War by George Washington Lafayette Swor and his wife, Mary Isabel (Lemmonds) Swor.
