This homepage is intended to be the archive of the descendents of Johann Ludwig Marstaller. He was born in Pliezhausen, Wuerttemberg, Germany on April 10, 1722, the youngest son of Jakob Marstaller (1680 - 1755) and Anna Barbara Schmid (1685-1751). He married Anna Elizabeth Kehrer in Pliezhausen on March 31, 1750. They immigrated to America in 1751/1752. The exact date is not certain. Initially they lived in Lynn Township, Northhampton(now Lehigh)County, Pennsylvania where their first two children, John George and Catharina Barbara were born. At this time in America's history, Lynn Township was the frontier and Indian hostilities prior to the French and Indian War led them to move to Bern Township, Berks County, PA just north of the city of Reading. It is also possible that he came to America as an identured servant but no records have been found yet. Johann Ludwig was granted a warrant for about 72 acres of land on the banks of the Schuylkill River where he lived as a small farmer until his death in 1780. His will is still registered in the Berks County Courthouse. |
