Welcome! I am researching the ancestors of my grandparents, Irene Ruth (Goble) Vollmer and Walter Karl Vollmer Sr. Many in our family knew them simply as Granny and Grampy.

Irene Ruth Goble was born in Jeannette, PA. Her family included some of the early settlers of that area. The ancestors of Irene Ruth (Goble) Vollmer include the surnames of GOBLE, HOUGH, HILL, GILES, and PAINTER.

Walter Karl Vollmer Sr. was born in Sharpsburg, PA. His family lived in that area for two generations and were members of the 1st German Evangelical Lutheran Church. It was his grandparents, Gottlieb Friedrich "Fritz" Vollmer and Lina Schramm who emigrated to the United States from Germany. The ancestors of Walter Karl Vollmer Sr. include the surnames of VOLLMER, LANGBEIN, and SCHRAMM.
