| This tree contains select ancestors of my son, Nick. It seemed the best way to include both sides of the family, since I'm actively researching both. On my side, the family has varying roots spreading back to colonial US (via my mother) and to "somewhere" in what is or was Poland (via my father). To say that some of these people are elusive would be an understatement. On my husband's side, the family goes back to Swiss, German and Czech ancestors, as well as the more elusive Matthews clan, which I've only been able to trace to Illinois, mid 1800's.
