| On Sunday 21 April 2002 we held a family re-union at the above address and it was here that we decided to publish our family tree. There is still a lot more research to do on both father & mothers sides of the family, but we have made a start. We all had lunch at the Cinque Port Arms, New Romney, then took our dogs Leo & Dino for a walk on the beach at Greatstone-Sur-Le-Mer. Present were the hosts Doug and his wife Judi. Doug's brother Tom, his wife Joy and their daughter Deborah. Doug's sister Shirley, her husband Robert and daughters Natalie, Claire and Sophie. Sally who is like another daughter was also there. Dougs son Paul, his wife Christine and children Emma and Thomas. Doug's eldest grandson Arran also came. Judi laid on a magnificent spread for supper including her favourite American pasta dishes, cheesecake and peanut butter pie! On Saturday 18th May 2002, Tom's eldest son Simon marries Li Maguire and we will all welcome her to the Matthews Family. |
