The Matzke family of which this author is a part of centers in Indianapolis and earlier in Breslau,Silesia,Germany and of the past 40 years in coastal Carolina. The earliest ancester , Chistian Matzke pre dates 1823 as that is the last date of birth of his son and my great grandfather,David Fredrick Matzke.( The infomation gotten from an old family bible printed in German) As an immigrant my forebearer,David Fredrick Matzke was brought over to the U.S.A. by my grandfather Julius David Matzke who had established himself in Indianapolis,Indiana. Additionally many branches of our family tree exist which the author only set down with the immediate knowledge available to him but these branches surely have far greater extent than visible from his limited perspective.
