| We are yet another Mathis line, not from France, Switzerland or England, but from Dornbirn, Austria. Johann Georg Mathis emigrated in the 1800's to Debuque, Iowa, where he married and raised his family until his death in 1891. Our family since the 1800's has married into families from Austria, Canada, Italy, Russia and Sweden. I'm sure that there are more, but that's all I presently know about.
