Found this, Probably written in the 50's at the Clarion Historical Society.

Robert Matson was in business with a partner at Alaska near Brookville, Jefferson county, when his partner cheated him out of the business. Robert then moved his family to Millcreek Twp, Clarion Co. where he purchased land and built a house on the top of Millcreek hill along the mouth of Millcreek road.

Robert Matson married Eve Beer. A son David Mervin was born in 1874 and died in 1919 during the great flu epidemic. Mervin married Alberta Hindman, daughter of Johnson and Sara Timlin Hindman. Several years after Melvin died, Alberta married Theodore Gerhold. David Mervin was better known as D.M. Matson.

Mervin Matson built a house along Dean Dam Road near the top of the Millcreek hill. It was just across the hill from his fathers home.

Another daughter of Robert and Eve was Mary Matson who became the second wife of Sam Ransom of Fisher.

Alberta Matson, her son, Robert J.(Jack) Matson and Sylvester Armagost, husband of Jennie Matson (Roberts daughter), were killed in an auto accident in 1941 in South Carolina on their way home from Florida.

On finding this in information in 1999, I can only speculate that they were on their way back from visiting Joseph J. Matson, son of Robert and Eve, who moved to Florida. Blanche Blondell Matson, who resided in Apopka,Fl. also told me that Sylvester was anxious to get started back because he didnt want to be caught up in the Easter holiday traffic, so they left sooner then planned. The car that they were in was sandwiched between two tractor trailers, front and rear. Everyone in the vehicle was killed instantly. All three of these people lived in the small town of Sigel, Pa. and the local residents there stated that it was a very sad time when the bodies were sent back for burial as they were known by everyone.
