Darrell R. Matson

Darrell R. Matson, 82, of 506 Negley Avenue; died at 9:25 a.m. yesterday at his home.

MR. Matson was employed in the Wheel Works of Butler Armco until his retirement in 1969 after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Butler, and the Armco Veterans Club.

Born in Clarion, June 2 1905, he was the son of Harry and Minnie Shawkey Matson. Surviving are his wife, Helen Vinroe Matson, who he married June 30, 1925; three sons Raymond E.; James R. and Kenneth L. Matson, and three daughters, Mrs Richard (Alice) Stewart, Mrs. George (Wanda) Beck and Mrs. Mark (Carol) Mincer, all of Butler, 20 grand children, 25 great - grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers James F. and Clair D. Matson, and two sisters, Mrs Hazel McCandless and Mrs. George (Eleanor) Huff, all of Butler. A brother (Charles) preceded him in death.
