Welcome to my family homepage for the Hunrath/Hayes/Stanley/Smith families. The information here on this site is a product of years of sifting through hunreds of documents and family records.

The Hunrath family originated in Germany. The earliest Hunrath's are from the 1700's in the Berleburg Stadt, Westfalen, Preussen area of Germany. There is a big gap between these Hunraths and my direct line from Lorha Germany in the Marburg area in the 1800's. The first known from that era was Georg Hunrath and Margret Otto. They had 6 sons that I know of; William 1860, Franz 1861, Heindrich 1865, Ferdinand 1868, Karl 1881 and Gustov 1884. There is some data that points to Georg having a second wife named Elizabeth which maybe why the gap in Karl and Gustovs birth dates with their brothers. All of these brothers came to America and settled in New York, Michigan and Ohio.

The Standley/Stanley line goes back to the 1700's with Richard Stanley who was in the Revolutionary war to the present in Kentucky, Ohio and VA.

The Hayes/Hays line starts in Conn. goes to NY to Ohio, Iowa, back to Ohio and Kentucky. The Hayes married into the Smith family.

I want to thank all of my cousins for their help and information on this collection. For without them my work would have been a whole lot harder and would have taken many more years of work.

As with any information accumulated through family records and records else where, errors are made. I welcome any information that can be added to this site about anyone listed in it.

This is an ongoing project, so please come back from time to time to see any new additions. I want to include a section of photos of our ancestors and their families. If anyone has photos they want to contribute please contact me and I will include them.
