I am searching the Mathena name (my father's side). I have not been able to get any further than Southern Indiana.
Most of the family is buried in the Badger cemetary out side of Derby, IN. My father: Neil C.Mathena Sr. 1942-1980
grandfather: James Richard 1903-1992
ggrandfather: Richard Douglas 1870-1914
gggrandfather: Balsir 1826-1911
According to the death record- Balsir was born in Ohio, and his father's name was Mose/Moses, mother unknown. I do have a copy of his military record (he was in calvary), but no further info.
I can not find any further connection to the other Mathena/Matheny families. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
