This Website was created by a Connecticut brach of the Matthews family. Their ancestors came from Wales, the earliest known being the twelth and thrirteenth Lords of Cardigan. Their decendants moved to England, back to Wales, then to Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia. There are currently closely related branches living in Georgia, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachussets, and New York.
