| I am searching for any information on the Matthews family thatcame from Edgefield, Barnwell, and Bamberg counties of South Carolina. William F. came into the Barnwell District in 1826 from the Edgefield District bringing with him his son Gideon Christian. I would like to know the decendents of Gideon Christian Matthews who was killed during the Civil War on Morris Island, South Carolina, August 22, 1863. Any information would be appreciated. Also I would be glad to share any information that I have. |
