Michael Mathis - German/French ConnectionUpdated September 5, 2000 | |
| Surnames which I am researching include: Kirchhoefer, Niederberger, Hasler, Berthold, Koesterer, Schickendanz, Petri, Allard. Many of these people came from Dietzenbach, Germany as well as the villages of Wallroth and Hinter Steinau. All of these people settled in the Darmstadt and Fayetteville, IL communities in the 1850's with the exception of the Niederberger and Allard line. The story I have on the Niederbergers' are that they came from the Alsace Loraine area of France and had their names changed to Niederberger. I have no information on the Hasler line and also the Allard line which I believe is from England. |
