| Research on SARGENT family name in Looe and Talland areas traced back to 1600 and John Sargent married to an Elizabeth; a John (Sergeant) grandson of the above John born approximately 1675 married to Elizabeth Jagoe and lived at Pelynt, Cornwall; Arthur Sargent born 1880 lived at River View, The Quay, West Looe, Cornwall son of William Henry Sargent Builder/Builders Merchant also researching MARTIN family believed to have been in the Falmouth area of Cornwall, namely a Joseph Martin in about late 1800s early 1900s, had children Albert, Janey, Harriett Anne,Ellen, Phyllis and George; Albert Martin went to Canada some time around 1939 it is believed. SHEPHERD family, namely Thomas who was married to Arabella Gray in the Winchester area, Arabella died 18-8-1884 (under spelling Sheppard and buried at Magdelen Hill Cemetery, Winchester; name of MATTHEWS traced to James who was a tin miner at St. Day, Cornwall who was born about 1859 and married to Emily, had children Edward, Ethel, George, William G, Emily; Further research needed to discover, in particular, the father and mother of Thomas Shepherd; the wife and father of Joseph Martin. |
