Ralph D. Mathes - Home Page

Looking for any information on a John Mathes or Mathews. A John Mathews appears on the 1860 Census for Schuyler county, MO. but not on the 1850. Shows age 60 born in TN. Wife Jane Age 57 born in England. This appears to be my great great grandfather. As the children listed for John and Jane, ages and date match up with some information I have. Apparently sometime after the 1860 census they dropped the w from the name Mathews and became Mathes. So far have not found anything on a John Mathews or Mathes that match since the above information.
