Richard Matthews is the son of Harold Percy Matthews, who was the son of Alfred William Matthews who was the son of Samuel Matthews a blacksmith in Ascot England from 1875 till about 1920. They lived in the Ivy Cottage on Fern Bank Road in Ascot, Berkshire, England. Samuel is the son of James Matthews who was born in Erlestoke, Wiltshire(1811). He was a blacksmith as was his son George. They lived at #16 High St.,Market Lavington, Wiltshire,England. He was the son of Ann Matthews (1792). Ann Matthews is the daughter of Charles Matthews(1757)
