I am researching the:(1) Matlin family which came from Kutrenislein, Russia; (2) Leventhal family which came from Solech, Russia; (3) Kravitz family which came from Yonova, Russia; and (4) Nettler family which came from Lithuania.
Members of all 4 families came to the US in the late 1890's and/or early 1900's.
Beryl and Freda Matlin had at least two daughters, Anna Matlin Lichten and Sonya Matlin Squire, who stayed in New York along with one son Harry; at least one son went to Canada; one son, Morris, went to England, and one son, Sam, went to Chicago. Sam Matlin married Anna Leventhal, circa 1912 in Chicago. Anna's family came to Chicago from Russia. Anna's parents were Rabbi Samuel Leventhal( Labentall) and Katherine (Kate) Arnstein Leventhal who had 5 children, Anna Leventhal Matlin, Esther Leventhal Saltzman, Sidney, Solomon, and Emil.
Sam Kravitz married Edith Nettler also in the early 1900's. Sam's parents, Aaron, who was born in Russia in the 1860's, and Fanny Feiga Chmernsky, who was born also in the 1860's in Kolonick, Poland, came to Chicago from Russia. The Kravitz children were Sam, Benjamin, William, Beatrice Kravitz Wolper Samuels, Sarah Kravitz Sohn,Esther Kravitz Nelson, Joseph, and Harry. Edith, her parents David and Sarah Nettler came from Lithuania along with her siblings, Anna, Morse, Jacob, Philip, Frieda Nettler Berkowitz, and Ben.
Any information would be most appreciated. I will be happy to share any information that I have.
