The family information appearing in this tree started when I was a youngster looking for something to do in a small town. Now years later genealogy research has turned into a lifetime of pleasure. My cousin Kathleen Murphy Chaney, helped me start my Genealogy. She was so much older than I. She was 12 and I was 10. We had so much fun. She was my inspiration. Kathy passed away July 30, 1999 at the age of 50. She would have turned 51 in October. Even though we didn't get to see each other very often, we were as close as friends living far apart can be.
The names you will find in this Web Site are: Armitage, Barnard, Barnes, Bond, Ellsworth, Galer, Hockett, Howell, Loper, Matzke, Miller, Murphy, Powell, Villarreal, Winterbottom and Witt. There may be some other names that I have forgotten, but have fun looking.
I am especially trying to find four lines. 1)Ferdinand Matzke, immigrated to the United States in 1883. He became a US Citizen in 1908. He married Sarah Jane Witt around 1885 in Missouri, we think. We are trying to locate any relatives of Sarah Jane. She was born in 1866.
2)Benedict Murphy, born in Illinois May, 1861. I am trying to locate information about his ancestors. He was the City Marshall in Edna,Kansas in 1900.
3)Ellen Goodwin, apparently born in Brooklyn, NY in 1860 or 1861. We think she was married several times. We know of at least two Mr. McKeehan and Benedict Murphy around 1890. She may have been married to Montague Brislin in NY around 1875.
4)Judson B.Loper was born in NY in 1816. He was a farmer by trade. He passed away in Olympia, Washington in 1917 at the age of 101. I would like to locate his ancestors, wife and children. One child was Alfred D. Loper.
I am willing to answer any questions that I can and willing to share information and sources.
Thank you for reading this site.
