| September 2002 ... We have just returned for a wonderful 15 day trip to Finland where we drove more than 2500 miles, enjoyed the sights and most important of all actually met with descendants of my husband's grandfather's brother. We visited all the old farms and so, after more than a hundred years, the two branches of this Siniluoto family were reunited! We have photos from all over finland, and will be most willing to share them with anyone interested. ____________________________________________________ This family is from Finland and lived in Upper Michigan...Ironwood area The original family name is Siniluoto, but was changed to Mattson when they arrived in the US. Albert Mattson and Liisa Maria Sunnie were the first generation of US citizens: Albert Mattson August 19,1872--1954 Liisa Maria Sunie April 13, 1879--1938 They had seven children: Arnold, Sulo, Saima, Francis, Ernest, Ellen & Vieno. |
