Stephen Wills was born in 1838 in England, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1848. He married Gabriella Baldwin in 1855 in Princeton, Indiana and they had 12 children. He served with the Union forces during the Civil War. Some of their children were born in Illinois. But until we viewed the 1900 census for the Indian Territory (Atoka), OK, we had been unable to find Stephen or "Ella" anywhere. We hope to be able to trace Stephen back to England and further our research on the Wills Family.
We are still looking for their son Walter's wife's family. Her name was Julia McClung, and she died about 1902-1904. They were our great grandparents. Walter, Stephen, and Ella are buried in Stringtown, OK, but there isn't a record of where Julia was buried, and if she is buried with the other family, there isn't a marker.
Some of the other surnames that I am researching are: Huckabee, Wills, Loftis, Freeman, Trimble, Casebolt, Sims, Coker, Nave, Cornelius, Page, and Hanks. On my husband's side: Mathews, Mahurin, Anderson, Hilton, Johnson.
The purpose of this research is to make it easier for my children and grandchildren, or any other family member to seek out their family heritage; and hopefully it will never be lost to anyone who is curious.
