I'm researching my family under my maiden name, Fortner. They migrated from Indiana at the beginning of the 1900's to California. I'm also searching my mother's maiden name, Thompson, who migrated from Indiana at about the same time. My father's mother's line of Cooks from New York to California, my mother's mother's maiden name Rhea from Virginia & Kentucky to California from the 1850's. Mott, Robertson, Shelton, Bird, Hambridge, Clouser, Fix, Buxton, Wandel, Cheatham and others are included in my search, most from the midwest.

Feel free to contact me if you are searching the same lines. I am willing to share and/or exchange information.
