A grandaughter [Mary Eleanor Rigg d/o Hiram Rigg and Hannah Maxwell] in mid 1800's gave a deposition[in her DAR papers line #219052] in the early 1800's that they were "married in Scotland , ca. 1761..came to America on their HONEYMOON and then decided to stay"...this was notarized by a lawyer as a "true sworn"statement with a copy of the family birth dates of children sworn as true copies of the Maxwell family Bible[see below]...
Thomas Maxwell served in Rev. War in the Chester Co. militia under Lt. col. Caleb Davis, 6th Battalion as both a private and later as an Ensign.
