Maxwell Family of Overton Co., TN Home Page

This web page is for sharing information pertaining to the Maxwell family of Overton, Co. TN. My main objective is to collect more information about the first two generations of the Maxwell family in America. As I understand the immigrant ancestor was a tailor who married in Ireland and came to this country soon after. Their known children were
1) Thomas Maxwell b. 1798 in North Carolina who married Letitia Carmack and died in Overton Co. TN in October 1871.

2) John Maxwell b. 19 February, 1805 in TN and married (1) Rebecca Carr and (2) Lillie Ann Davis Hill and died in Overton Co. TN 10 April 1891

3) Henry S. Maxwell who left Overton Co. TN in the 1830s and lived for a time in what was then Lafayette Co., AR
