William Dobbins was a Veteran of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He came from Chemung, New York to West Burlington, Pennsylvania, on 1 May 1791, with the McKeans and DeWitts and helped settle the town. On 26 May 1793, in the town of Juddsburg (Burlington) PA., he granted John Spalding a certificate reserving six hundred acres. The record says William was from Tioga township.

According to "Pioneer & Patriot Families of Bradford Co," she, along with Mrs. McKean, "on the very evening of the arrival of the pioneers from Chemung on Sugar Creek, proposed and held a prayer-meeting and thanksgiving for the safety of the colony, and these two then and there covenanted together to erect the family altar at their own firesides, and at it worshiped daily, and they faithfully kept their covenant through life." Her name is also spelled Mary "McClain."
Is she Mary McKean? That would make her related to James McKean.

He was a twin to John. According to "Pioneers & Patriots of Bradford County., PA.," pg. 223, they came to Burlington, PA., from Framingham, MA., with their cousin Stephen, in 1793 when they were 17 years old. Then they brought their father and the rest of the family the following year. He lived on a farm, near his cousin Stephen, above the center of town. Stephen moved prior to 1812 to Green County, Ohio. In 1833, Nathaniel moved to Columbia township.
According to "History of Bradford Co., PA," pg. 288, He came from Framingham, MA., with his cousin Stephen in 1796, when he was 18 years old.

John Ballard was a twin to Nathaniel. According to "Pioneers & Patriots of Bradford Co., PA.", they came to Burlington, Pennsylvania in 1793, from Framingham, Massachusetts, with their cousin Stephen, when they were 17 years old. The next year, they went back and got their parents. He lived on a farm, in Burlington with his father, about half a mile above town.
According to "History of Bradford Co., PA," pg. 288, He came from Framingham, MA., with his cousin Stephen in 1796, when he was 18 years old. The book also says there were other Ballards in the town of the first and second degree. One was a brother of his father Joseph and another was the brother of Thomas, father of O.P. Ballard.
He separated from Mary Dobbins, then married Betsey.
His will was probated in Bradford County, PA. Book 2 - 394, no. 1308. It says he is from Burlington and was buried at the Methodist Episcopal Church. It was written on 8 May 1850 and proved on the 21 Dec 1859. He mentions in order, his son William Ballard; wife Betsy; son, Myron Ballard; son, John Ballard; son, Alexander Ballard; daughter, Myra, now Myra Johnson; son, Joseph, daughter, Harriet Mears; and his daughter Wealthy's children.

Notes for John Pendleton:
Early in life John Pendleton became a master mariner, later he became a farmer and inn-keeper. The Rhode Island census of 1774 shows him as the owner (or employer) of six Indians. He became part of the First Congregational Church of Stonington, CT., on 13 August 1780.
In 1789 Captain John Pendleton was appointed administrator of his father-in-law's estate, John Thompson. Captain Pendleton had been John Thompson's guardian for the preceding eight years, due to John's "spells of insanity." Perhaps he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
