I am researching the Maxim name. Samuel Maxim (Maxham, MAxam, etc.) is first found in the states around 1654. This Samuel is the source for a very large Maxim family. Noted descendants are Hiram and Hudson Maxim. (inventors) Also, the Maxim fire engine company of Southeast Massachusetts was founded by descendants of Samuel. There is an incredable military history of which there is a Medal of Honor recipient. Tjhere are also records of participation in every war from the Revolutionary to Desert Storm. I have nearly 2000 names dated before 1900.

I am working on a book of the history of the Maxims and their contributions to the America.
