Robert Maxwell was born in Scotland abt 1750 and died there in 1799. He married Isobel Dunbar and was the father of at least 3 sons named: William Dunbar, Alexander and Benjamin (Changed to John), John emigrated to NS in 1812. William Dunbar and Alexander emigrated about 1833 to NS. John MAXWELL married Elizabeth (Betsy) MCLEOD, between 1812 and 1820. She was the daughter of Neil MCLEOD. It is believed Elizabeth was born in Sutherland County, Scotland about 1795. We have located most of the MAXWELL family and information is almost complete up to present generations. We are missing any family information from Scotland about the parents of Robert MAXWELL. We are also seeking information on almost all facets of the MCLEODS. We know nothing about the MCLEODS in Scotland or any information on siblings of Elizabeth MCLEOD or any MCLEOD family up to the present generation.
