I am researching the Mayo family line with ties to the Gallagher, Davis, Elliott family lines. The families are from Cheatham County, Tennessee and go back to Virginia, England, Ireland, and ?.William Mayo appeared in Virginia around 1640's and married Isabel Hardy in the Isle of Wighte area of Virginia. I would like to know how he got to Virginia and where in England he is from.
